Mmm, grab the syrup - fresh pancakes!
« on: June 16, 2009, 06:31:29 PM »
We just got a fresh delivery of pancakes for TP-006 and TP-007. They should be getting dressed in their flanges and boxes and begin shipping tomorrow. 'A' reels of TP-008 are starting to arrive as well, so those should be in the delivery chute pretty soon too.

the future production schedule
« Reply #3 on: June 17, 2009, 08:20:44 AM »
TP-010 has started production and should start shipping as soon as Carly gets some time in her schedule to run some b sides. Shawn is currently engraving those reels, we are printing the artwork and the first 'a' sides have come in. We have added three more people to the staff with this move and we are cranking as fast as we can. We should see about 40 albums shipping this week. That will put our total of albums shipped since we moved the packaging plant one month ago at around 105, with an additional 40 or so albums of TP-001 thru 004 on the shelf, ready for shipping to new subscribers and for individual album sales. The catch up run will be complete by the end of the month. If we maintain this average flow of around 140 albums per month we should be able to deliver a new album just about monthly. In theory we should have TP-010 in subscriber hands in early July and be shipping the first Series Two titles in August. That is, barring any tape famines or some of the other delays that have been out of our control in the past.

OK, we shipped all the outstanding TP-006s today and we have a few Oistrakh albums in stock and available for individual sale at $500 plus shipping. Should be able to get the TP-007s out tomorrow or maybe Friday depending on how quickly some rearranging of a lot of inventory goes. Romo says a big batch of TP-008 and TP-009 pancakes should be on their way from the studio to us very soon. That means that quite possibly my initial estimate of beginning to ship TP-010 in July was conservative and we just might get some Rollins albums out a bit sooner. The crew, both at the studio and here, is getting into a groove and the pace is picking up.

Shawn will be working on some Otaris over the next few days as well. We are finding that the later models have a really miserable epoxy holding the fixed guides together and we are working our way through various non destructive methods of getting the little b*****ds apart in order to modify them.

All outstanding TP-007s are shipping this afternoon and we have some on the shelf ready for individual sale. Price is $500 each plus shipping. This has been a favorite - we have already sold some individual albums, and we have just a few on the shelf - so contact Eileen at queen at bottlehead dot com or 360-697-1936 to get one before they are all gone.

By the way we worked out the Otari fixed guide issue. what I though were plastic edge guides are really some sort of ceramic composite that can take a ton of heat. So we are getting the guides apart with a heat gun and some clamps that we fabricated. Still not a job for the fainthearted, but we have our first modded BIII up and running and it works very nicely.

Thanks bud. TP- 009 pancakes are on the way to us, so they will be packing next week. Shawn finished the TP-010 flanges just before our CNC computer croaked, so we should be able to start shipping TP-010s right on the heels of TP-009.

I'm headed down to the Bay Area for the Music Server Symposium this weekend, and next week the TP gang and some other friends are headed up here for our annual Picnic in Poulsbo, so I may be somewhat scarce on the boards for bit.

We have a big ol' pile of TP-009s going out today, like 50+, and we should have everyone caught up on TP-009 with this shipment. Carly has been duping TP-005s and TP-010s and we will be packing and shipping those puppies as soon as they arrive up here in the rather parched Northwest.
