Tascam 42 eq switch to IEC
« on: September 15, 2009, 08:14:35 PM »
Hello all,
I'm new to the forum and am interested in being able to play these tapes. I have a Tascam 42, which fits all the requirements, but it is currently set up for NAB eq. Looking in the manual and at the PCB boards, it seems to be a pretty tricky switch to perform. I thought it was going to be much easier, but it's hard to get the PCB boards out and I'm afraid I'd mess something up. Does anyone else have any tips on switching from NAB to IEC on these machines (Tascam 32, 42, 52)? Other than the IEC issue, it fits the bill.

I know I can get an outboard tape pre that would use and IEC eq, but I don't want to go that route if I don't have to.

Thanks!
