Atom Heart Mother on Ebay for mega bucks for those with interest.
Ending soon.
Remembered some past inquiries on Floyd tapes.
This is a public service!
I have no financial interest in the sale or Ebay.

That is the highest price I have ever seen a factory tape sell for, and there is still one more day to go!

It is hard to believe.
Don't they know there's a recession!
Heh TP honchos, at that price can't we afford to make our own version?

Holy mother of God! The last time I checked it out, I was stunned to see it was over $200,.. it's now over $700! I think we should start an online betting site for outlandish EBay auctions. This one could easily hit a grand! Imagine if it was in mint condition or still sealed,.. forget Ebay, I'd take it straight to Sothebys.
And what about the seller, he must be lovin' it!

$1,725 final bid.

Hoochi Mama!

The cost of a TP version of this title should be a steal!

In all fairness, there could be some Floyd collector forum where everybody's saying stuff like " Is that all,.. nice score dude!".

LOL too true. I bid $1600 on it. :)

But I'm a analog junkie and a huge Floyd fan.

Floyd reels I've collected so far:

Final Cut 2 track 15ips radio station reels (one album side per reel)

The Division Bell World Premier Broadcast 2 track 7.5ips Westwood One reels

I had a dialog with the AHM reel seller 6 months ago when he asked me to verify it's authenticity. I made him an offer back then, but he wasn't untested in selling it. When I saw the ebay listing, I emailed him asking why he decided to put it on ebay. He told me he was in a financial bind and needed the money.

For all those with disapproving/dubious significant others, this is a great Ebay listing to show that you are not the only one and not that bad to boot.
Sort of puts a charter membership to TP in perspective doesn't it?

Steve,

Is that 2 track 15ips of the Final Cut a one-off, or was it a limited release?
When the 'Pros and Cons' came out there were rumors of a limited release on 2 track 15ips tape. Those rumors silenced after a while and I have never seen anything happening.

Too my knowledge, the Final Cut reels were made for radio station broadcasting. I do konw that at least one other set exsists. They were produced by Wilder Bros Studios.
