Problem. Audio modulation
« on: August 09, 2010, 11:32:56 AM »
Hi everyone.
I'm sorry my first post is about getting help but.. here I am.

I bought a Revox A77 HiSpeed. 80% on the heads and good working order. I did a few recordings on it and a mastering. Everything worked fine.
But, since yesterday it started to wierdly modulate the audio when reaching the end of the reel (RMG SM911). I changed the reel and it seemed to work but now it started doing it all the time... gettin worse. By listening it seems to be "cyclical".

Do you have any idea on what could possibly be the cause?
I'm attaching an audio example.
Thanks alot

Ed.

Didn't listen to the sample, but I would guess it's the brakes dragging.

Yes. It was. The feeder brake was too tight.
Really thank you! You saved my day.

I was afraid i did something wrong during the input bypass mod.

Grazie tante
