Tape Project Take-up Reels
« on: July 30, 2007, 05:06:42 PM »
Doc,

Since you are having custom flanges made for the Tape Project, how about offering subscribers an empty reel to use as a matching take-up reel. I think that would look really cool.

Had a good discussion about this yesterday. Paul and Michael received the sample punching of our custom flange and gave the go ahead to get them made. So we hope to see flanges by month's end, at which point they will be visiting an engraver for catalog and serial numbering and then getting loaded with albums! In the course of the discussion we decided to give free take up reels to Charter Subscribers, and we will offer take up reels to anyone else who wants them at a reasonable price.

The reels look great everyone. Can't wait for you to see them loaded with your tapes. Simple. Elegant. Classy. and definitely distinctive.

Let's see if this works....

Dear Doc B.,

Do you have any idea when the new "Take Up Reels" might become available to purchase? Also, do you a rough idea what they will cost? I want to be prepared to purchase when they become available. Thank you so much.

I believe the bulk of our order will be in around the middle of September, and we will make take up reels available soon after. I think we may have a few flanges at the duping facility already, that are committed to our first album run. I will be heading down to San Francisco to help with getting the first run out in about a week. By then we should have a better idea of the exact timing of everything.

Doc,

I know I saw something about the pricing on these recently but can't find it. When will you begin taking orders?

Thanks,
Gary

Michael told me yesterday that the Great Flange Screw Famine of 2007 is finally over. So we can start to put together some take up reels. I imagine all of this stuff will come together when Eileen and I head down to SF next weekend to help out with the first packing and shipping run of the albums.
