Otari MX5050BII Bottlehead mod
« on: September 12, 2011, 07:59:07 PM »
In this thread http://www.tapeproject.com/smf/index.php?topic=553.0 does this mod keep the meters in play? Meaning are the meters accessing the signal from the board before terminal blocks 9, 13 or 14? I am not versed in reading schematics. If not does the mod offered eleiminate the meters? If so why not take the head connection off the head block connector?

The mod completely bypasses the internal playback electronics and hence any internal metering. I would not advise trying to meter the output of the Seduction or Eros tape head preamp without installing a buffer between the preamp and the meters.
