New Reel-Tronix takeup reels
« on: October 19, 2011, 05:13:25 PM »
Patrick Sinegal just sent me pics of his latest take up reel designs. Prices range from $325 to $475, and Patrick says he will have a web site up soon.

Wait! I get it! If these reels cost this much then we could get a Full Subscription of 10 Tape Project pancake tapes for 2000 bucks, conservatively speaking. I want the full Series 2. Let me know shipping and I'll paypal you ASAP. ;-)

Early to bed and early to rise in NJ,
                                                      Neal

BTW: google "tape project" the third link down will read "Tape Project Piper" Oh, my beating heart.....

Just got the bottom left reel in. Not cheap but you've never seen tape packed like this!

Stay tuned for more.

Please notice these reels are machined, not stamped.   This means the reels are very rigid, strong, not as likely to be bent or damaged due to impact, can handle rough handling.

Btw.  How do you know it's my real name?  Just because I say so?

Stamped flanges end up uniform in thickness. Are these CNC machined from thicker material to guarantee these stiff reels to be balanced? Meaning FF & RW without wobble?

At $300 plus, they better be.   Of course, one could ask, but there is really no objective way of finding out they are or not, but just for the unique eye candy factor, I'd be willing to buy one for the trial, and if no issues, then another one.
