Alignment with software...
« on: October 21, 2011, 09:25:58 AM »
Hello Alignment-Specialists.

I am trying to learn how to align my tape machines, in this case a Studer A807.
The use of the software "audioTester" seems to make sense.

Please see attached graphics.

I would like to know, if this is the right way and if my results are acceptable (maybe a hint, what could I do better).

The software gives a sweep from 20 Hz - 20000 Hz on the output and draws a graph for the input.
I adjusted with a millivoltmeter and a scope. Then I used the software and "cleaned" the curve as goog as possible.
Here is the result plus a second graph showing only the hardware without the tape machine (Cables XLR-In directly to XLR-OUT)

Thanks a lot!
