Technics RS-1500 playback problem
« on: July 30, 2015, 12:47:37 PM »
Just bought a Technics RS-1500. Download the service & owner manual. clean the heads... Everything seem to work find and  when I record anything the meters work great and show it recording BUT when I goto play it (or any other pre recorded tapes)  the meters dont move and there is no sound unless you turn the output level and volume on the amplifier way up and you ear something from far far away.
What could be the issue?
thanks
Al

Try switching the head selector switch on the headblock back and forth several times. The contacts can get tarnished and/or loose.
