Hi Again!
Still digging out of this house and have now found an Astrocom Marlux Model 407 still in original box.  Is this thing worth anything?

Hi Sue,

Just read your year-old post!  It might be worth something to me, as I used to have one.  A belt broke 20 years ago and the repairman said he couldn't get a replacement so I should leave it with him and buy his used Pioneer 909.  I did that (sucker! Boy, was my brother mad!), and it worked okay, but didn't have the nifty aura of the Astrocom, or as good a flutter performance. If you still have it, let me know. Thanks.

As far as putting any money into it......no.    I have repaired many of them and they are pretty crude machines.  There are many Teacs, Tascams and Pioneers out there that are far better decks (worth getting repaired).
