The Black Keys are known to exclusively use R2R Tape Recorders for all their recording. Plus TP needs some good blues rock.

What’s the gear situation down there in the basement?
We’ve got a bunch of Shure SM57s and SM58s, an AKG C1000, and a couple of Sennheiser mics. We run everything into a Tascam 388 Studio [an early—1985—analog 8-track workstation that combined 1/4" reel-to-reel tape with a built-in mixer]. Pat has a cheap spring reverb unit, and that’s about it for outboard gear.

They have other good albums too.
