Prerecorded Tapes / music to relax with.
« on: May 28, 2010, 11:27:36 AM »
Can I use my Just visiting ... Get out of jail free. card?
Busy over coming up with a low hum power supply for my pre-amp,
that has been using up all my time and money. I need about
110 DC @ 20 ma and .8 amps @ 6.3 V. I suspect the chokes
I am using don't just cut it. and I have to wait a few weeks to order
more.

I suspect I will just be buying TP tapes since I have no way of
paying for ebay tapes, and that has restricted my thoughts of doing
more with audio tape. I just hope I check in a few days before they
stop shipping season II, not after.
Ben.

Step two ... Cuss at the machine, if you are using a PLAYBACK only machine
or in my case, the inputs are NOT connected to the PCB's.
Step three ... Cuss at IRONBUT for expecting to have quality sound from a CD. ;)

Prerecorded Tapes / retail prices on reel to reel tape
« on: October 07, 2008, 10:50:43 AM »
Some of my ebay tapes came in yesterday and I am playing 'Ceasar Plays'.
None of this 'played on a baby grand' this is the real pianio. In the other box
was a leaflet 'The worlds greatest artists are on RCA victor 4-track "Living Stereo"
reel tapes. I am guessing the date of recordings is 1964 ish. Back then a Candy
bar was 5 cents. Today it is about $1.00. a 20 to 1 increase.

Popular artists 7.95
Classical artists 8.95/10.95
Original Cast 8.95/12.95
Classical artists 14.95/21.95
I suspect they all are 7 1/2 ISP tapes 7 " reels.
Footnote: all on RCA'S red seal magnetic tape.

Even back then tapes where the elite of music.
This would place a tape $8.00 tape at $160.00. This
seems high to me, but it does show good recordings are
not cheap.

I have been buying 7 1/2 tapes off ebay. There seems to be alot of tapes
being sold in the last few weeks. Is this common or was this the summer
to clean house of all this old junk?

Tape Project Machines / A wish: New tape preamp: Desire
« on: September 06, 2008, 11:04:41 AM »
This is what desire ... A combo seduction and the foreplay line driver
in a single small box. The main reason is I don't think I will have room for
both the seduction and foreplay and my deck all in the same corner of the room
when I do decide to upgrade. I suspect other people also may have the same problem, a small amount of room for the tape deck and amps.
