This is a cool site so far. I'm a tape freak so I'll fit right in here. On my tape deck tonight is 63 popular selections. It's a reel my father in law loaned me. He bought it back about 25 to 30 years ago from American Airlines. The sound is still good considering it's age. I'm listening to it on my Teac X-7R

As I wrap up the day and get ready to head for the martini shaker I am doing some critical listening using TP-012 Be Altitude/Respect Yourself, out of the RCA outputs of my Nagra T/ Tube Repro, and into our new Bottlehead Crack OTL headphone amp prototype, with a pair of Sennheiser HD600 headphones with a Cardas cable.

This little headphone amp is not quite up to my big monster $10K headphone amp, giving up a bit of midrange magic, but it's not so far off that I'm missing it that badly. I mean baby, it's MAVIS singing. We've been experimenting with upgrades - C4S active loads on the tubes and we just replaced the stock Panasonic 100uF electrolytic output capacitors with a couple of bigass Dayton metallized polypropylene caps that are each about the size of the 6080 tube. They just barely fit under the hood.

Nice way to wrap up a workday.
