Thanks for all the feedback. I've had some trouble with my junkbox (computer) and lost some of my websites. I will be ordering the lamps soon. I did end up buying the lamps for the Vu's I installed them without a problem.

Thanks for the reply. The pages you suggested should help. Since I'm on several different forums I just have my user as dodgeaspen, it makes it simple. I'm cool with changing it tho because their is so much information here to be consumed. Thanks again.

Tape Tech / Lamps for Otari MTR-10
« on: August 16, 2010, 08:48:02 PM »
I'm sure this is the wrong place for this but I didn't know where else to put it. I'm looking for the lamps for the RR FF buttons. I've not taken it apart to get a part number because the new lamp is not in my hand yet. I can't find it in the manual. Can anyone give me a part number and tell me where to buy them? Thanks.

I've heard good things about that site. I want to take a few shots of my studio and put that on a shirt.

I just got off the phone with Patrick and found the part number is still LU2049 and the price is $7.00 each. And they are in stock.

I know this thread is very old but I'm happy it's here. Ive been looking for some info on the bulbs and the LU2049 is the only number I have to go on. The guy I have dealt with in the past few months is Patrick Johnston. He's the VP AheadTeK

I have learned from tech after tech telling us to use factory parts whenever possible. It really makes a difrence on the belts.

Reel to Reel Tape Machines / Re: NAB hub adapter question
« on: January 17, 2010, 12:57:41 AM »
That's a LOT of money just to make the deck look nicer. I bought replacements for my Tascam 38 from Teac a few months ago for less then 20.00 including shipping. They may not dress up the deck but they work. I'd rather take the money I saved and buy more gear. BTW before buying from Junkbay call the dealer first to see if they have the part in stock. Their is a guy on the bay that tries to sell new adapters for Tascam at more then double the price. asc1975 is his screen name for Junkbay.

Prerecorded Tapes / Re: Ebay Tapes

Every now and then I see a 15ips tape on ebay, they are usually a master of some sort. I seen a master of a Madonna's (Open Your Heart) go for over $300 on ebay UK not long ago.

I did not realize that their were that many tapes out their. It would be cool to hear a master at 15ips from pro studio.

Prerecorded Tapes / Re: Whats on the reel tonight.
« on: December 31, 2009, 08:36:48 PM »
This is a cool site so far. I'm a tape freak so I'll fit right in here. On my tape deck tonight is 63 popular selections. It's a reel my father in law loaned me. He bought it back about 25 to 30 years ago from American Airlines. The sound is still good considering it's age. I'm listening to it on my Teac X-7R
