I recently purchased a Teac 32-2B 2 track, 7.5 and 15ips machine in great condition. Heads are nearly new with new belts and innards check for problems. I am now wondering which tape to use and where to purchase it.

I am also concerned about keep the heads clean and demagnatized if the latter should be a concern. I want to be prepared for the new super 2 track tapes coming out soon.

Is there anything else I should be concerned about? Again, I appreciate every bit of help I can get. I am really looking forward to a brand new future in great music produced for our tape machines. Thanks all.

Reel to Reel Tape Machines / Teac A7300 2 track
« on: August 24, 2007, 07:41:32 PM »
Hello all and thank you for all the assistance you've provided so far. I have just purchased a Teac A 7300 2 track 7.5 and 15ips deck. I am waiting to sell my house and will relocate to Florida. Once sold, I will then find a great place to send the A7300 for refurbishing. However, until then, I plan to play the few 2 track tapes I have.

Can anyone guide me to where I can pick up some very good and good looking NAB hubs for this deck?  Are there any metal hubs to be found anywhere? I will also be looking for 2 very nice 10.5 metal reels. Any guidance I can get will be welcomed. By the way, if there is anyone familiar with how to begin taking care of this deck myself I would appreciate your knowledge and guidance. Thank you all for making me a part of this wonderful experience.

Of course my plan is to get this deck prepared for the Tape Project's upcoming 2 track tapes. I am very excited about this.

General Discussion / Hello Everyone
« on: August 21, 2007, 04:31:45 PM »
I recently read in the Absolute Sound about the "Tape Project" and wanted to learn more. I presently have a Pioneer 1020L tape machine. However, I now understand after reading some of the input here that the project tapes will be 15ips. So, it appears my machine will not work. Am I correct in my assessment?

Also, does anyone know where I can get my machine looked at and checked out? There does not seem to be a problems, but I know after all these years, it needs looking after. Any suggestions or comments will be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much.
