Aha! You're several steps ahead of me there sir! I'd got as far as getting hold of original 1500 and 1520 schematics and taking a preliminary look (all with a view to modding my 1500 to be switchable) but on realising it would take some further study the project's been shelved for some weeks. I'll take another look: this is something I'm very keen to do.
Actually, might you be persuaded in due course to produce a handy step-by-step guide, similar to the 'How to route direct from RS1500 heads to external pre-amp' walk through... (for us less expert technicians - I'm not a beginner, but neither am I a qualified tech).
Very much hope so - a large part of the reason I put off further investigation was realising the gap between seeing what needs to be done on paper, and figuring out how to do it with the physical components! :-)
