Progress on Austin Recording Tech Museum

The Museum of Magnetic Sound Recording has launched an Indiegogo project that will help the Museum jump start several initial projects as we work toward the creation of a permanent facility. Created in 2012, the Museum was established to provide a permanent public non-profit museum that preserves the history of sound recording and its impact on music, broadcasting, film, video & science.

Below are links to the floor plan and content list of the Austin sound recording museum.  We  are excited to announce that the University of Texas School of Architecture will make our Museum a project for their Interior Design class. 

The Museum is an approved 501(c)3 and all donations are tax deductible.  We would really appreciate any donations you're able to provide.  All comments and recommendations appreciated.  Thank you!  Cheers!

I see that these are the machines from Phantom's.
As reel to reel fans, I'm sure that most of the members here have reaped benefits from your site which has been linked to many times on this forum.

Would like to see that but now the link seems to be broken. I have VanPraag's book.
I emailed with him in the past. Wondering how he is doing. I thought at one point he had to sell his collection he based his book on.

Recent donation offers include:
a) Pedro Gutierrez' s audio equipment used in his PSG studio and at the Kerrville Folk Festival from 1974 to 1989
b) Orlando Disney World's audio production equipment used for the first animatronic displays
c) Dave Boyers original Magnecord prototype PT-6 reel tape recorders
d) Scully 280 stereo deck
e) High speed Ampex cassette loaders

Amazing stuff.

You really should post some info about the museum over on the Ampex list. Maybe I missed it but folks like Jay McKnight might be able to hook you guys up with Stanford University who took over the museum that used to be in the lobby of Ampex Redwood City.
As far as I know, the only thing the university has done with that collection is restore and display an Ampex 200 in one of the libraries (maybe a VR machine too).
The photos they have should be on display somewhere IMHO.
