CES

I understand The Tape Project will be at CES next month.  I'm wondering if anyone knows yet what vendors will be playing tapes.  I'm looking forward to hearing them at the show and in my own music room!

Thanks,

Scott Dean

Here's one.  At CES (Jan. 7-10), check out room 30-308 in the Venetian Hotel: Speaker manufacture, Nola, will be using Tape Project tapes for their "high rez" source material. Playback deck will be the UHA-HQ tape deck (a highly modified BR-20).

We are putting together a Technics RS1500 with a Tube Repro which will be showing in the TAD home audio room. We have sold a subscription to April Music and they plan to demo with tape at the show as well. I imagine that Philip O'Hanlon will be demoing with one of Arian's modified Revox machines and we are working with a well known speaker manufacturer who is hurrying to finish a new design in time for CES. If it all comes together we hope to have tape rolling through a Tube Repro in his room as well. There are a few other manufacturers who have been talking to us about demoing with TP tapes in their room as well, so there could be several more tape demos happening this year..

That sounds great Doc!
It sounds like the word is getting around. I know from my humble demo experience that guys with very $$$ ($20k+) digital front ends are always begging me to hook up my tape playback system to theirs. They all make comments like " that's the sound I'm looking for" or " I was hoping that my system could sound like that".

It's really an unfair advantage that these guys will have. And I'm sure, just like me,.. they feel terribly guilty!
Hmm,.. maybe it'll get to the point that having a reel to reel tech on site might make sence.
