Nagra T manual
« on: November 24, 2010, 10:59:55 AM »
Did one of the forum members possibly win that ebay auction for a Nagra T manual that ended a couple days ago? If so I would like to talk to you about what all it contains. It looked pretty thick in the photo and it seems that I probably have only some parts of what was published. Would like to find out what I'm missing...

Hey Doc,

I tried with $200 bid but it went way over...

Based on what T parts go for on the bay I guessed it would go for between $300 and $400 (way beyond my $150 limit), so I wasn't surprised.

You are correct about the escalating prices of Nagra T and parts.

The last one that came up on eBay without meterbridge or the stand went for nearly $7000...

One of my studio machine sources in CA had offered me a meterbridge that I was looking for at $2000... that I had to pass.. but told me she would be listing a Nagra T in sections later today.  She is expecting to get $2000 for the meterbridge, $4000 for the deck, $1000 for the control panel...She normally sells the NAB adapters for $400...

Let me know you or any other fourm members want parts or this machine.  I'll  put you in contact with my source.

I guess we got our machines just in time. Hopefully it's a temporary spike like the Technics machines did a few years ago and prices will come back down a bit. I pity the guy who buys one for that kind of money and finds out it needs a bunch of work.

Whew! Those prices really are spiking!
I wonder if there's a Yahoo/Nagra group or something out there. If not, maybe someone should start one. Those groups are great at compiling data like manuals and parts sources not to mention the exchange of info and experiences.

A bit more sane sale price for something T-related. Good luck to the winner in replacing the connectors that were chopped off. One feels compelled to ask "Why did they do that?"

Probably whoever purchased won't ever try to replace the connectors but is buying it as a parts source instead?

IIRC you can add a second control panel on a long cable as a remote control. That's what I would have done with it.
