Tape Project Machines / Re: Project Machine labeling
« on: May 01, 2009, 04:07:46 PM »
I was at the J-Corder site (the place that does the TP Mods)and spotted this "Front panel insert to dress up your deck" http://shop.j-corder.com/product.sc?categoryId=3&productId=18  "easy peel and stick installation"  It seems the finishes are NOT painted on but are CAD printed stickers! On the J-Corder "The Restoration Process" page It says "Step 2. Add front panel finish" http://www.j-corder.com/The_Restoration_Process.php

Reel to Reel Tape Machines / Re: Otari ARS-1000, canidate for

It looks to me like the the ARS1000 already has a preamp out looking at these balanced connectors on a pigtail and the lack of meters and knobs. Also I notice the upgraded rubber rollers and tension arms.

Reel to Reel Tape Machines / Maple floor in Jersey sides!
« on: April 12, 2009, 07:23:18 AM »
My Brother, who is a craftsman in the Philly area, made some sides for my MX5050 BII-2 to replace the stock contact paper and compressed board sides. Scraps from a Maple floor in S. Jersey were used. I think he also felled some of the Maple trees from the customers back yard to cut the flooring boards from :o)

Plan to offer a Mod Kit for us Do-it-Yourselfers?
Also a good way to save on Packaging and shipping.

Tape Project Machines / Project Machine labeling

I'm wondering how they label the Fascia of the reels for the knobs and buttons after the custom paint jobs? What is used, a factory decal sheet? Hand lettered? I have wanted to custom paint my reels for years (a nice Candy maybe?) but don't know how to re-label the the face.

Who is your reel tech in Orlando? I use a guy in Wekiva Springs, Seminole County. His name is Zvi. He works from his garage and does great work but is slow at getting to the project. I have not been able to find another tech around that has parts and knowledge of Revox and Otari reels.
