I just got my UPS notification that a package is coming - due for arrival on January 27th. Any hints as to what it is? Thanks, Larry

Me too....assume it's the Linda Ronstadt. The sample I heard in Vegas in the TAD room, despite the monitors, sounded pretty good.

Yes we began shipping Heart Like a Wheel today, from a big stack of albums on the packing table. They will be going out this week as fast as I can print the cover art, probably about 20 a day.
-
Woohoo! Just my notice today as well - have you guys managed to ramp up production volumes? Usually it seems like there are a few reviews and comments even before I receive my notice.
-
In the past our shipping was so spread out that we took great care to ship in numerical order. For this album Shawn devoted a couple of days last week to putting flanges on pancakes and getting the setup boxes labeled and packed with tapes. So we already have pretty close to all the Ronstadt albums packed except for the insertion of cover art. I think the packers are just moving through the stack of albums as quickly as possible as the artwork gets completed and not spending so much time putting each tape in the packing queue by numerical order. Most folks should have their album shipping by week's end, save for a few more recent subscribers who I believe we still need to do a small catch-up run for.

any news about new titles shipping? i need to scratch my 'new tape' itch.
it's been over 2 months since the last one.

give the guys a break! they're trying to figure out if right channel on the right side is right or viceversa.
just kiddin'. i'm still without my tape rig until two weeks from now when mike spitz flies down all the way from ny to set up my atr so i'm not in a rush.

TP-016 is packed and we are just awaiting final approval of the artwork, which I will probably have today or tomorrow. So it should begin shipping in the next day or two. There was some delay in getting this one out because we have been doing a "catch up run", making and shipping a very large number of albums from previous releases that have been ordered over the past several weeks. Nearly as many previously released albums have been put together and shipped in the past six weeks as we ship in a first run of a new album.
-
Ooh,..#016!!!
Can't wait!

Thanks, Doc! This will be a fun one. Just to be on the cheeky (and greedy!) side, could you give us an update on when you think TP-014 might be ready? It'll be fun to get some classical in this mix, too--

I'm going to let Paul give you an estimate on the Series Two classical titles. They will probably be the last couple of albums to ship, as the scheduling has worked out such that they will be the last two titles in the series to be mastered. I believe Paul is either getting ready for or already on a vacation, so it may be a bit before he can weigh in here.

Terrific :-)

Hi guys,
Just wanted to let you know that we are not slacking on TP-016. I am awaiting the "any day now" delivery of some paper that I thought would already be here by now. As soon as it shows we will be a printin' cover art and a shippin'. The pace will be steady rather than frantic as I messed up my leg and am stuck on crutches for a week, and the printer is in the office down a wicked set of stairs...
-
So the "any day now" delivery of the paper for the cover art stretched to nearly four weeks! Supposed to be here tomorrow. Apologies for the delay, once we get our groove on TP-016 will be flying out of here in large quantities.
-
TP-016 is beginning to ship today. We should get about 1/3 of them shipped today, and the rest shipped by early next week. After these ship we will be doing a catch up run of around 50 orders for previously released albums. Then we will move on to shipping TP-017.
-
Woo Hoo!
I can't wait to hear what this one sounds on 15 ips tape!
-
i just got my UPS shipping notice.....so TP-016 tomorrow afternoon...thanks guys!
-
Terrific news!
-
The last few TP-016s that we have made up should be shipping today and tomorrow. After that we are doing another catch up run, with a lot of TP-009s shipping out, followed by a fair number of TP-010s and many other Series One and Two titles. Then we will get into shipping TP-017, Little Hatch: Rock With Me Baby.
-
Itchin' to know like the rest of you guys--what's next and when? I know TP-014 from a previous post by DocB is going to be about the last to ship, but how about 18 or 20 which are also left on my subscription? Any of those would be very welcome! ;-)

We're finishing up the large catch up run mentioned in my previous post, then we will be shipping TP-017 and TP-018 after that. Not sure yet what the delivery order of TP-014, TP-019 and TP-020 will be, but we will just keep shippin' 'em as fast as we can.

Can't wait after The Band release. That was a treat!

Agree with Myles--and thanks for the update, Dan!

What's the latest shipping news???

Over the past few weeks something like a half ton of catch up albums have shipped, both 1/4" and 1/2". We had so many catchup albums to ship that we were worried that the folding banquet tables we had temporarily stored them on while we got the artwork printed might collapse (moving into our new facility next month is going to make packing and shipping operations for two businesses a lot easier to do). There are still a few catch up albums left to ship, I think there are maybe around 15 or 20 shipping today. In the meantime the Little Hatch album is being packed and the artwork layout has been completed and awaiting the guys to sign off on it, so TP-017 should be coming out of the chute quite soon.

Starting to print the Little Hatch artwork today. We should see the first albums going out early next week.

Very cool!
That should be a killer tape.
One thing I love about these tapes is the way you can hear the improvements on any genre of music. I know that some folks think that the cost of these tapes is harder to justify with anything other than big symphonic works but I couldn't disagree more strongly. I was kinda shocked by how good "Stage Fright" sounds and for my ears at least, it set a totally new standard for just how good a rock album could sound.
I spend a little time lurking on some of the "Pro Audio" forums hoping that something will rub off on me. And it used to be that I didn't have a grasp of the sound that some of those guys were talking about. "Stage Fright" was one of those "OK, now I get it" moments for me.
Priceless IMHO!

excellent news!

got my shipping notice for (i assume) 'Little Hatch' for delivery later today. i've been looking forward to this one for awhile as i'm very curious how Chad's stuff can sound.
tomorrow night i'm hosting our local monthly audio club meeting in my room. i should have 15-25 attendees and the focus will be on both vinyl and tape. 'Little Hatch' will be a fun one for that i would think. any tape heads are welcome to join in. 6pm--9:30pm. actual meeting 7:30pm -9:30pm.
e-mail me for directions; [email protected]

Well that is sure good news Mike, I am looking forward to some new music on tape.

A couple of months ago the question was raised as to when TP-014 (Church Windows) would become available. It was suggested Paul would have an answer upon his return from vacation. Did I miss the announcement date? If so, will the two Reference Recordings be released this year or not? When should those of us who purchased Reference Recordings titles (TP-014, TP-019) expect to receive them?

Keith and I finally got a chance to get together and transfer the tapes for both Church Windows and Nojima Plays Liszt. We'll get started duplicating Church Windows next week, so it will probably be the next title shipped. Unless the Clifford Brown is ready sooner. I'll let Dan update you when it gets a little closer.

Woo-hoo! This is great news, and I'm sure everyone who purchased these titles can hardly wait.
Thanks for the update!

That is great news Paul!
Thanks for keeping us abreast of how things are going.

OK--Little Hatch has been out a while.. so what and when is coming next?

Last of the Little Hatches, a bunch of series 1&2 catch up albums, and a batch of 1/2" are shipping on Monday and Tuesday. In the meantime Shawn has been assembling Clifford Brown Memorial reels and we will begin printing the cover art as soon as I can get it wrapped up and get the paper in house.
-
Oh Boy, oh boy!
Love that album!
-
I second, that Steve--can't wait for the Clifford Brown!
Still hoping Church Windows is soon, too...

My last TP tape arrived over 3 months ago......good things take time.....but what can we hope for, when?
Thanks,
Tom

Working on the Clifford Brown now. Probably start shipping right after Thanksgiving. Eileen is recovering from some eye surgery so we are a bit shorthanded at the moment.

I'm sorry to hear that the Queen is laid up.
I hope she'll be up and about ASAP. She certainly takes good care of all us TP nuts and the Bottlehead crazies as well.
Be sure and let her know that I do my best not to take that sort of thing for granted.
-
We will be working on somewhere around 25 "catch up" shipments of TP-001 thru TP-017 today, and I hope to have the Clifford Brown Memorial artwork print run started by Friday once I finish dialing in the test prints.
-
are we gonna see the Clifford Brown before Jan?
Mike

We should start shipping in the next few days. Printing artwork right now.
