I just picked a 5050 for parts buts its actually in better shape than my regular machine except there is a problem with the motor function.
No ff and no rewind, capstan motor turns and the deck will play a tape but there is no back tension on the supply reel either. I have checked and cleaned all connectors but nothing!
I suspect the motor control board but am hesitant to swap in the one from my good machine in case it damages the good one. Am i looking on the right track here and does anyone have a spare board?
