Hey all,
I'm new to this forum, and I have a Denon DH-510 reel machine. It's 1/2 track with 7 1/2 and 15 IPS speeds. Does anyone know much about this deck? Quality, repair parts, tweaks, etc.?
It works well, and I have recorded a few LP's at the 7 1/2 speed. But due to the cost of blank tape, I've not used the 15 IPS speed yet. Just curious what everyone thinks. Thanks!

Denon open reel decks are virtually unknown in the US.There's lots of info in Japanese but I've rarely seen anything in English regarding them.

I have a copy of Audio somewhere, I believe, from 1980 or so. It contains a review of the DH-510. My recollection is that it did very well on the bench and made nice recordings, too. It had low wow/flutter and extended frequency response. If it plays back the IEC curve, I think you are all set. Enjoy.

I also own a denon dh-510 (found it in a music store). Let me know if you need to know anything about it.
I still use it frequently with my 2 otari mx 55nm's.

Any chance you could post a picture of this deck? I haven't seen this model before.
