Hello everyone. I just got a deal on an Otari MX55 T-M desktop (not in the house yet), so I thought I'd join this forum so I could learn how to use and hopefully if possible  how to maintain it. Really happy to be here.

So let me introduce myself, I'm Spiros. Pleased to meet you and Happy holidays to everyone.

Hi Spiros,
Welcome to the forum.
While you wait for your machine to arrive, you might want to gather up some info.
There are a couple of stickies above the General Forum and you'll be able to find some Otari info in the "Links" sticky as well as some general tape deck tips in the "Beginners Guide".
