Title: Technics RS-1500 with flourescent VUs

Hello
I am thinking about replacing the VUs on my experimental project RS 1500 ( modified audio boards, recapped, 0,75mm heads, Studer bias coils etc. etc.) with a flourescent display like the RS-777.
Does anyone has experience in doing this ? Which cassette deck is best to take off the display unit ?

Where do you plan to fit them?  Why Studer bias coils.
