Revox PR99 is better option than C270 by service and maintenance reason:

- C270 is complicated small footprint recorder - if something goes wrong it does, and is very difficult to service. Assembly and disassemble is a nightmare.

- PR99 is much more user friendly design, everything inside is accessible for repair.

They have pretty much identical sound quality.

Stick with PR99 and forget about C270

Hello everybody at Tape Project, there is good news for anybody who need serviced Studer  A810 work horse.

This is the last A810 available offered by reelproaudio.com. This recorder is recently serviced and aligned, in fully operational state, and maintained regularly last two year it has been my main workhorse in R-to-Digital transfers. Speeds 7.5 and 3.75IPS (can be modified to 15/7.5IPS upon request and for extra $100 service fee). Heads are good, butterfly type,  never being re-lapped and will go long miles before any services necessary.

For such top level recorder, in such a shape, prices go quite high these days (in range of 4+ grands). Please do not expect to win this recorder for few hundreds or a thousand, to save your time and efforts.

Location: Fremont, California 94536
