Those pic's look like one of the machines I used at Blue Diamond Studios back in the 1980's. Nice sounding machine... better than some of the 2" ones I used back then.
ya ought to take a look at Endino's site where he compares various decks, note where he states that the Nirvana Bleach record was done on one of those:

I agree with the comment on the MCI's - they sounded like cardboard to me. And i'm no golden ears kinda guy:
