Reel to Reel Tape Machines / Re: Otari MTR-20 - worth keeping? - kind of urgent situation

Thanks for your feedback. I really appreciate it. I have found a potential buyer from Chicago, but I still haven't quite made the final decision to let it go. I have two questions that would help with the decision, if you don't mind answering one last one!
The first is the easier one: If I sell it now, how easy or hard would it be to find another one later and would the price be higher, lower or about the same? I think she is willing to pay my asking price of $950. Second question: I'm used to the sound of my Studer 24 track with Dolby SR and have tried every variety of digital made, the only thing that sounds anything like it is the older Sonic Solutions Studio, which is actually the DAW I used to master my tracks. Would I be as happy with the sound of the Otari if I used dolby SR as I was with the Studer? I know the transport is slower but it would seem to me the extra track width on the larger tape might even give it an edge over the Studer, used at 15 IPS with Dolby SR. Has anyone had experience with both? I have to make the decision in the day or two. Thanks again, everyone! Best, Brian
