Looks like Ron Welborne is selling the A810 he brought to the first Rocky Mountain Audio Fest:

I remember his wife Dana telling me that he was burning the candle at both ends before the show just to get that rack cabinet finished while he was also helping Al Stiefel get the first RMAF off the ground. The setup is very nice looking in the flesh.

Hey Dan is it setup for TP tapes? What about direct from the head playback?

That's one sweet deal! Somebody looking for and 810 and wanting something that's pretty close to plug and play should hop on that puppy. I believe that the 810 has a different set of repro cards for IEC but since he's providing an extra pair, you should be able to get them modified or even traded for a pair. I wouldn't wait to long on this one though.

That really looks like a nice set up.

The A810 is switchable between NAB and IEC playback and is therefore immediately ready for TTP tape playback and pretty much every other possible 2track tape playback. Direct from the head playback from an A810 is possible but poses some challenges.

I really know nothing about the machine other than what I have already mentioned. I have no affiliation with Ron and mentioned the auction here only because I happened to recognize the machine on ebay and thought folks might be interested. The last time I saw it was 5 years ago, before we decided to do TP. Best bet is to give Ron a call or contact him thru ebay for more info about eq, head wiring, etc.

I hope you guys get well taken care of and have a drink on me.
So when do we get to start being ornery, forgetful and licentious and just blame it all,.. now what the hell was I talking about?
