Anyone making 15 ips 2-track copies of CDs?

Rumour has it that they can benefit from a little ferric oxide ;o)

I have several favourite CDs of music which is unlikely to be re-released on vinyl and there is something soothing about spinning spools.
Maybe they boost alpha waves in the brain....

Hi Brian,
That is the research I am doing now, I want to record some of my CD's to tape. Question is do I use NAB or IEC for 7.5 ips? I say 7.5 because I don't know if there are going to be any advantages at 15 ips being it is coming from a silent background. If there is some reason to use 15 ips someone please tell me what it is???

Actually Jay "15 ips" was a play on that earlier thread regarding recording LPs to tape. In practice I too will be having the transfers done at 7 1/2 since most CDs will nicely fill a single 10 1/2" reel at that speed. These transfers will be using IEC.

I'm in the UK so pretty much all available machines record to the IEC curve.

I make tape copies of 32/352.8kHz digital on a Studer rig since no one can play the digital source files natively.

Sounds pretty damn good to me...
