SONY TC-126 : Record/Erase Function HELP!!!!
« on: October 17, 2009, 02:50:24 PM »
I just bought an SONY TC-126, with an F-99s microphone, two SS-16 speakers and a hard case in (seemingly) immaculate condition for only $30.00.

The playback function works perfectly, but when i try to record something onto a blank cassette, the recording comes out very distorted and at a low volume.

When i go back and try to erase it, it does not erase at all.

Any suggestions on a problem and how to fix it?

I am a total newb,  but am very passionate about analog recording.

 PLEASE, PLEASE HELP!

This forum is really dedicated to reel to reel tape playback. I suspect you might have more luck on a forum that deals with cassette recorders. You might ask at Tape Trail at Audio Asylum for a lead.
