Ok Doc your the doc.....but the only reason why i thought about electronics is because when its cold and not been powered on go to hit play the pinch rollers do not engage.....nothing happens when it sits powered on for a few hours go to hit play and the pinch rollers engage and it starts to play....but i am guessing not at the correct speed.....also ff and rewind worked when cold but started off ok and progressively got slower and that was with either going ff or rewind...


thanks for your help if you have other things to suggest...please by all means..

Hi DocB....I left the unit on not engaged and just now hit play after its been sitting for hours it works!! or at least it engages the pinch rollers and starts moving but i think it isnt working correctly....what you think...logic??, powersupply ????

Hello Everyone i am new to the RTR so please be kind...ok this machine has a history..... this machine belonged to Fred De Vir of Minneapolis recording very close friends to Bob fulton.. anyways its in great looking condition both 1/4 track and half track heads etc...

 the problem is when i try to playback the light comes on the play button but nothing moves or happens
both idler mech are engaged etc...does anyone have ideas on what to look for???  am i doing somthing stupid that i cannot see....

BTW I have all of fred's masters and some of bob fulton masters also :)
