3 Oranges/Dorati Fine work

I just listened to a 2 track Mercury I've been after for a while. "Love for Three Oranges" with Dorati and the LSO. I really love these old acetates and this is no exception. It may be a tad lean on the bass but other than that, a great recording.
I've tried a little harder to find these early 2 tracks (this ones from 1957 I think) since I heard from Tom Fine that some of these were made from running masters that were mixed directly from the 3 track session tapes. Not quite up to TP standards but still, very nice.

That's funny Steve because I don't remember the LP being bass shy. In fact, I remember it having stupendous bass. BTW, it is a great recording and nice performance to boot.

Yeah, that's puzzled me too. Of course that was just a first listen after I put leader on it and treated it with Last tape treatment. The Last seems to tip up the treble a bit but that settles down after a few plays. Time and long term storage usually effects the highs and the Last usually helps with that but sometimes it's kinda like turning up the treble a click or 2.
I'm being hyper critical too. When I say a tad, I'm not sure if anyone else would notice.

excellent, Steve, I loved the performance, finding 2 track mercs on ebay more readily, but the prices, ompf!
