Need to play some tapes
« on: January 20, 2011, 01:11:08 PM »
Hi a complete novice here so be kind to me. I have recently bought two reel to reel tapes of a PETE TOWNSHEND, THE WHO, INTERVIEW but i have nothing to play them on and i was wondering, hoping, that someone in the West Yorkshire area might allow me to listen to them (or some of the material) on their machine. If anyone can help me with this i would be very grateful. Thanks. Steve

Hi,
Hopefully someone on this forum is in your area and has a machine compatible with your tapes.
Were they the type issued to radio stations for playback and produced professionally or someone's home recording off the air of the interviews? This will help people know what size reels, speed and track configuration, in stereo or mono we are dealing with. That is, whether you need more of a pro or consumer machine to play them back.
