Recording on Technics RS1500
« on: November 18, 2008, 07:28:56 PM »
I am new to R2R and was wondering how to record on the RS 1500.  I did get a recording on one side of a tape, but can't record on the 2nd side.  Can it record on both sides of a tape?  and if so what is the proper way to record with this machine?  Thanks so much !!

The RS1500 is a 1/2 track record and playback and 1/4 track playback machine. 1/2 track stereo uses the full width of the tape for the two channels. The RS1506 on the other hand, is a 1/4 track record and playback and 1/2 track playback machine. That is the model that you'd need to also record on the flip side of the tape. At the top of the "General forum", there's a sticky with a guide that will help you sort out the different track formats etc.
