Gramophone Online
« on: January 06, 2009, 11:13:51 AM »
Gramophone magazine has created an online archive of all the publications from 1923 to the present. For those who are unfamiliar with it, it's been a cornerstone of classical music reviews for nearly a century. The online archive will allow you to view the most recent issue if you are a current subscriber. I just found out about it so I haven't had a chance to try out but I believe this would be a good place to employ the advanced search button.
I just spent a little time doing some searching on this site and it is a joy. Each article has a scan of the original article and facing page including "adverts". A sidebar with other recordings of the same piece appears. This looks like a great way to while away a decade or two.
